For the 2018 ESPY Awards, Chance performed a Muhammad Ali tribute that featured an original song written specifically for this moment. Michael was tasked with designing a scene on stage that elevated the moment while accenting Chance's music. To play toward Muhammad Ali's boxing history, Michael curated an announcer's microphone to be lowered from above for Chance to use. This moment of the microphone lowering was a nod to the start of a boxing match when the match would be announced at center ring. In addition, various still images and video clips of Ali's boxing achievements were incorporated into the video screens on stage.
